American and international friends of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem gathered in Israel for the 74th International Board of Governors Meeting (BOG), June 17-22, 2011. This year’s theme, Facing Tomorrow, was developed in conjunction with the President’s Conference led by the President of Israel, Shimon Peres. Both popular and stirring events drew visitors from throughout the world and showcased the achievements of Hebrew University researchers. A highlight of the President’s Conference held at Jerusalem’s Convention Center was a major exhibition, “The Hebrew University Lab: Research Today for a Better Tomorrow.” The BOG includes a convocation, during which doctoral degrees are awarded, and a number of ceremonies recognizing the commitment of HU friends from every part of the globe. AFHU proudly lauds American Friends who were honored at this year's BOG.
